It’s almost June 1st, and I’m taking this early Saturday morning to soak in the memories of the first five months of 2026. If I really think about it, I’m still processing this past December. From celebrating my niece’s first birthday on Christmas Eve and catching The Nutcracker performed at the Mesa Arts Center, something in me felt like the magic had been set for the year to come.
I’d say that, so far, the feeling has held true. Looking back on the past few months, I can’t help but notice how abundant they’ve felt. Can I add in that I turned 40?? Which is a weird feeling because it’s this epiphany of realizing you’re definitely not 25 anymore, although I’ve been told I could pass for that. 🙂
In between it all, I’ve managed to stay on top of my photography work. Maybe it’s been helping with the magic, where the space in between gives me a reason to go wholeheartedly into every session. I’m not one to brag unless it’s about my niece and nephew, of course, but I’ve been able to capture some of my best work yet, which includes senior portraits from this year.
It’s hard to believe that I’ve been holding onto my camera for 15 years, but if there’s one thing I know it’s that I’m not letting it go anytime soon. These photos not only showcase the accomplishments of these young adults, but they also reflect something in me, too; a free-spirited soul still striving to make a life out of what I do and, most of all, what I love.
